1. O/F (Ocean Freight).

Ocean freight is the most common mode of transport that importers and exporters use.

2. DOC (Documentation fee).

fee for paperwork. This service covers the creation and processing of all standard transport documents (e.g. B/L (for export) or Delivery Order (for import) or etc). Usually applied per Bill of Lading/ Transport Document.

3. THC (Terminal Handling Charge).

Levied by CY and CFS operators for goods passing through their operations. THC are additional costs, on top of the sea freight, charged by the shipping company for the handling of containers at the container terminal before being loaded onboard a vessel. Examples include the unloading of the container from a truck, stacking and transport from the stacking location to just below the crane. This concerns FCL (Full Container Load) shipments.

4. THC (Container Freight Station fee).

CFS is assessed for LCL shipments. After arriving at the destination port, LCL cargo is taken to a container freight station (CFS) to be deconsolidated; after that, it’s loaded into a truck and transported to the final destination.

5. CIC (Container Imbalance Charge or  “Equipment Imbalance Surcharge”).

Can be understood roughly as empty shells surcharges transfer. This is a kind of sea freight charges which the carrier market revenues to offset costs arising from the transfer (re-position) a large excess of empty containers from where to where missing. The container shell is usually where the nation largest trade deficits). The amount of container imported into greater exports lead to a large container stock.

6. EBS (Emergency Bunker Surcharge).

EBS is an emergency expense for Asia route that has to be paid to cover higher fuel prices than were originally anticipated. EBS is bunker surcharge, it is not Local Charge.

7. HDL (Handling fee).

Handling fee is a fee for agent follow and responsible for delivery process, declare manifest for the Customs before the ship arrived.

8. Other charge ( OTH ) - ENS 

ENS is a surcharges profile for importing into the European Union (EU) to ensure security standards for the EU region. The abbreviation is Entry Summary Declaration. This regulation takes effect from January 1, 2011.
